Actually, E Nomine is a Christian band. So yeah...anyone who says they're satanic is retarded.

I've always thought E Nomine was a Christian band. Though I must say, I am not a Christian; I am a deist, but I am still attracted to their music.
Also, it is commonly mistaken that the "Satanic" religion worships the devil. I've researched Satanism, and this isn't the case. Satanism believes in neither God nor Satan. It is actually an atheistic religion...

I never thought they had a religion, really. I just thought they were some dark, gothic band. Many gothics tend to wear crosses and have some kind of biblical aurora to them. I like it though! ;D

They did sing the Lords Prayer and Ave Maria.... They certainly are Christian oriented.
I wouldn't say they were a Christian band like dc Talk or Newsboys, as those are bands whose intentions are to provide an alternative kind of music specifically for Christians and Christians alone, who often find mainstream music adding to their weights of temptation. Well, actually, dc Talk as more focused on popularizing the faith in society than just entertaining Christians and praising God like the Newsboys or providing moral support to Christians like Rebecca St. James - although they did all that as well - they were just a bit aggressive.
But I also don't think they're like U2 or P.O.D., who are "Christian" by using their faith as inspiration for music, and not necessarily for praise or for the purpose of helping the faith like DC Talk and Newsboys.
They could just like Gregorian, but those guys are a bit too traditional Christian in their music, even when they do their own versions of popular songs (and those are typically from "Christianly influenced" mainstream bands, like U2, Evanescence, and Cold Play).
E Nomine is unique, in a class of their own. They're able to attract non-believers, and believers alike, and I think they make both sides question the group's religious stance stance - non-believers question their religious identity because of the lyrics, the believers are questioning because of their sound - and at the end of the day, that just adds to their appeal. I personally feel that the lyrics have more to say than the sound of a song, so that would make them rather Christian in my book, but I think they're using Christianity for music , and not using music for Christianity, like other Christian bands do. Not that that's a bad thing (I'm addicted to Christian music myself), it's just a difference.
But whatever they maybe, they're certainly not Satanic. Whoever said so should be excommunicated for false accusations and shear stupidity.

some of their songs could definitely be taken as satanic (exitus, schwarze sonne, etc) but then their entire first album is about god, with only parts mentioning the devil. even then, i think quite a few people automatically associate anything dark, creepy and/or angry with satanism. my grandmother used to say that when she was little people used to say music with brass instruments/drums was promoting satanism because it made you want to dance, which lead to fornication... lol

I've noticed that people who say that groups like E Nomine are Satanic/demonic.... *drumroll* Don't. Speak. German. AT ALL. As in, their knowledge of German stops at "ja" and "nein". >.< Which means that they automatically think that whatever is said is evil or whatever, without asking for a translation of the lyrics or anything. Others, like my parents, both have no knowledge of German and are just too darn conservative for their own good. They thus think that a group that sings about Dracula and werewolves must be evil and thus should not be listened to by their dear, sweet, "innocent" children. People who say stuff like that make me want to punch the wall.
