Questions about the versions of Die Prophetzeiung and the song Schwarze Sonne seem to crop up a lot, but no one has thoroughly answered these questions in one place. I'd like to dedicate this thread to clearing everything up about Schwarze Sonne and Die Prophetzeiung once and for all. Who's with me?
The information is a little scattered, and even when I tried to compile the answers, the answers on the forums were too vague. No offense, just saying that I couldn't make heads or tails of it.
I tried seeking outside sources, but couldn't find much. Wikipedia's data on E Nomine is scant, and even then, it isn't the most reliable source. The E Nomine website does have links for song samples, but all of them are broken, so I couldn't exactly compare versions.
There seems to be a lot of haze floating around the difference between the various versions of Die Prophetzeiung. Klassik is the one that obviously stands out, we don't need any clarifications as to it's origin or what it is.
The albums in question are the original version (Monumental) and the Re-release of the Monumental. Now, I've heard a few people say generically that the re-release is just the original Monumental plus a few songs, but I'm starting to wonder if that is a common mistake that is perpetuating confusion.
Aren't some of the songs on the re-release actually different versions of the original songs? Yes or no?
If yes is the case, then saying "Oh, well it is the same albums the original Monumental" would be a bit misleading towards newbies. Sure, the sound of the re-release is still monumental dance but we should clarify that the songs on the re-release are different, usually heavier versions than their "Original" incarnations and therefor not "the same."
Now... onto Schwarze Sonne. I am not even going to touch on the English and remixed versions, let's first take a deep breath and try and sort out E Nomine's German versions before we even climb that fence. There are three that fit this bill.
Version A
Example: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=O5AahqCj7MA
Notes: I am guessing this is the original version from the original monumental album. The singer is Helmut Krauss, right?
Version B (Klassik)
Example: ie.youtube.com/watch?v=vxQxqm_jInU&NR=1
Notes: You know the drill- the electronic and gutiar work has been stripped out and the orchestral elements are key. Still Helmut Krauss I believe. Anyone else notice this version is slower than the other two?
Version C (Newest Version)[/u]
Example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SX6itruJPI
Notes: This is often known as the Ralf Moeller version because the video for this version has Ralf Moeller in it. I am sure this is the Re-Released version, and may have been also released as a single. It is more guitar-heavy, has a different choir than the monumental original and klassik. It also has a female vocal sample that is not present in the other two and the introduction lyrics are different. All of this is true, right?
Any corrections are welcome.
