Note by Admin- This is just here for reference as being the inspiration to make this forum/board.
Alright, so my frequently-mentioned friend Justin is also a huge E Nomine fan, and he's having a problem. He LOVES Per L'Eternita, but the lyrics are not in the booklet that comes with the CD. Okay, so, that's not a huge problem. What is the problem is the fact that 1) we're not sure about the language in which it's sung (it would make sense that it would be in German and Latin, as the rest of their songs are, but there are some parts that sound...different. And there's the title the leads us to believe that parts of the song may be in French or Italian), 2) we can't decipher more than two words by ear, and 3) the lyrics are NOWHERE to be found online. Justin has been searching for them for months now, and it's gotten to the point where "Finding the lyrics to Per L'Eternita" has made it to his list of things he wants to do before he dies! Is there anyone here who knows why these lyrics are impossible to find online or, better yet, who knows what the lyrics are?? We'll love you forever. I'll give you a cookie. Seriously. Just tell me what kind and I'll send you one. I'm serious. Per L'Eternita lyrics = one cookie. It could be yours!

!) Well, the language is mixture of Italian, German, and Latin. Per L'Eternita means "Through Eternity" in Italian, and most of ths song is sung in it. 2) Even if you knew the languages it was sung in, it would almost be impossible to decipher, as all of the people that I know who know Italian tell me that this is some of the worst pronunciation of it they've ever heard, but that it is indeed Italian. 3) I even e-mailed E Nomine about this one a while ago (and by that I mean a Representative of them) and they don't have the lyrics either. I put could in a favor with my friend, Fibonacci, to see if he could get the lyrics by ear, but like I said - very bad accent. Sorry for the fact that that was basically no help lol- Peter

Ooh, Seraph, lucky you! I can't find the old version of Das Testament anywhere, and I'm sure if I did it would be WAY out of my price range. Peter...was the person that you emailed a guy by the name of Mark whose username on some E Nomine message board was enomine121 and claimed to be married to Senad and commented on the size of his...member? Because--here he is again!--Justin emailed this same guy a number of times, including a few times with regards to Per L'Eternita, and we came to the conclusion that he is not a reputable source at all and has no connection with the band whatsoever. I really wish Justin would hurry up and join, he'd know what happened better than I would...but yeah. Just because HE doesn't have it certainly doesn't mean they aren't out there. However, if it wasn't this guy and you have no idea what I'm talking about...ignore all that.

I know what you're talking about and have heard of this shady figure. He's a guy for one, which was very strange, and no he is not reliable and/or connected with the band.
I originally e-mailed an e-mail I found on the back of my CD booklet for "Das Testament" and woman working for the record label responded to me. She has been my "contact" ever since.
This thread has led me to an option. I'm thinking about starting a new board called "The Per l'Eternita Project" wherein we will try and decipher the lyrics. Once someone can figure them out, I can get them translated within a few days.
It's the figuring out that's the hard part. Anyone concur with my idea, or think that it will be helpful?

Yeah, between the people on this board and the people known by/resources available to the people on this board, the translating shouldn't be the hard part. Because the pronunciation in that song is so bad (which isn't good for me, considering I've never been good at deciphering E Nomine lyrics by ear in general), it will be hard to decipher, but seeing as that's the only way I can see us learning the lyrics aside from contacting the band itself, I say let's go for it. However, I don't think an entire new message board dedicated to this will be necessary; a separate forum, at most, would suffice nicely. I'm all for it. I'll do what I can to help, although I don't know what that can be.
